With over 2000 IT employees, Handelsbanken is one of Sweden’s largest tech organisations – constantly seeking new talents who see challenges and opportunities in digitalisation efforts. The talent program from Handelsbanken and Nexer Tech Talent, focusing on Cobol, provides you with a solid foundation for your future career in the tech and banking industries.
You will begin the Talent Program with an extensive 8-10 week introductory course in Cobol programming. Afterwards, you will engage in practical application within the bank alongside training in soft skills, such as personal leadership and group dynamics.
You will be assigned a mentor who supports you through the program, from education to practical application in your team. The focus is on modern tools and efficient tech solutions, such as Handelsbanken’s new Cobol pipeline where you work in IDz with tools like Git, Bitbucket, TeamCity, and Urban Code Deploy. Through the Handelsbanken Cobol Tech Program, you will rapidly develop and gain a unique opportunity to expand your technical expertise and career possibilities.
Whether your interests align with designing user-centric features or you prefer the crucial behind-the-scenes work of aiding product development teams, the Talent Program serves as your gateway to a growth-oriented adventure in an expansive and reliable organisation.
Handelsbanken Cobol Tech Program starts in September 2024 and is part of the Handelsbanken Business & Tech Program, but specialised in Cobol.
THE BRIDGE BETWEEN STUDIES AND CAREER
As a participant in the Talent Program, you will be part of a team where you will contribute your skills on a daily basis to achieve the team’s objectives. You will also have access to a tailor-made training program where you will spend a few days a month deepening your technical skills, combined with training in areas such as leadership and personal development. Upon completion of the program, the ambition is for you to move into direct employment with the client.
