For the fifth year in a row, we are launching the Axfood Tech Development Program — a talent program for those at the beginning of their career who want to take big steps from day one.

As a participant, you become part of Axfood’s IT team. You will work closely with experienced developers, specialists, and leaders in a culture shaped by collaboration, curiosity, and a fast pace.

From day one, you will be involved in real projects while developing through training, guidance, and a strong sense of community.

Get to know Axfood, the business, and the tech landscape. Your consultant manager at Nexer Tech Talent will guide you as you build your network, understand the bigger picture, and set the direction for your journey.

This is where it gets real. You grow through tailored learning paths and close guidance from mentors at Axfood and specialists from Nexer. Along the way, you receive continuous feedback that helps you keep moving forward.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

What is a talent program?

A talent program is the bridge between studies and career. Our talent programs are designed to quickly strengthen the competence gaps within the companies we partner with.

This means that, over 12 months, you combine real, hands-on work with targeted skill development, mentorship, and technical guidance from specialists at Nexer.

You are employed by Nexer Tech Talent and work on-site with Axfood in Stockholm.

What does the program year look like?

As a participant in the talent program, you will take on a role within Axfood IT, where you contribute your skills to help the team achieve its goals.

A few days each month, you will be at Nexer’s office to deepen both your technical expertise and personal capabilities through training in areas such as leadership and self-leadership.

Throughout the year, we also arrange several shared activities that strengthen team spirit and create a strong sense of community.

After completing the program, the ambition is for you to continue your journey with Axfood as a permanent employee.

Who can apply for the program?

The program offers six positions within the specialisations of AWS Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and ServiceNow.

If you have relevant skills and are a recent graduate within IT, you are welcome to apply.

August 2026.

What does the recruitment process look like?

As part of your application, you submit your CV and answer the questions needed for this stage of the process.

Our recruitment process includes an interview with Nexer Tech Talent, assessments, an interview with Axfood IT, reference checks, background checks, and ID verification.

We review applications continuously, which means positions may be filled before the final application date.

How many positions are available in the program?

The program offers 6 positions across different teams and areas of expertise.

What support will you receive during the program?

As a consultant at Nexer Tech Talent, you will be well supported throughout your journey. We care about your development and want you to thrive, which is why we listen closely to your goals, your needs, and the direction you want to grow in.

Community is important to us, and we meet as often as we can for shared activities such as lectures, after works, and lunch meet-ups.

During the program, you will be coached by a consultant manager from Nexer Tech Talent who ensures that you feel supported and continue developing in the right direction.

You will also receive support from a team manager and mentor at Axfood, as well as technical guidance from a specialist at Nexer.

What happens after completing the talent program?

After successfully completing the program, the ambition is for you to continue your journey in a permanent role with Axfood.

2022: The Starting Point

Nexer Tech Talent launches the first program together with Axfood IT. The focus: SAP — a critical competence gap.

By combining technical expertise with soft skills, a strong foundation is built. The result? 4 out of 5 participants remain and continue strengthening Axfood’s SAP capabilities.

2023: Cloud as the Next Chapter

With a successful first year behind them, Nexer Tech Talent and Axfood take the program to the next level. The focus shifts to cloud development with AWS.

The program evolves with market needs — and delivers. The result? Every participant moves on to a role within Axfood.

2024: Broader and Stronger

The program grows and now spans several parts of Axfood’s organisation.

The focus remains on SAP, with an even stronger emphasis on soft skills to prepare talents for reality — not just the role.

2025: Scaling Up. Thinking Ahead.

The focus shifts to integration, cloud, and infrastructure — areas shaping the business of tomorrow.

The program strengthens not only Axfood’s delivery here and now, but also builds a long-term pipeline of tech specialists ready to drive the next phase forward.
