Dream Big – The breast cancer scanner won the million

Arby Leonian from the winning company Thermaiscan together with Nexer's communications manager Beatrice Silow, and the jury members Viktor Frisk, Reach Media Group, and Lars Kry, CEO at Nexer Group.

The winner of the innovation competition Dream Big is Thermaiscan! Nearly 170 entries applied – and it was gratifying that 40% of the entries came from female entrepreneurs.

Four finalists were selected to pitch their ideas to the jury. There was a great variation among the finalists, whose innovations covered everything from recruitment through AI and Machine Learning to battery development and medical equipment to detect or operate on tumors. On Thursday, the winner Thermaiscan, received the prize of 1 million SEK.

Arby Leonian from Thermaiscan was both overwhelmed and happy:

– It’s incredible! It’s a dream come true. This will help us so much, and in the long run, save lives.

Motivation of the jury
“By combining the right people and skills, the winning team has created a smart solution that overcomes geographical, societal, and educational barriers to reduce human suffering and improve quality of life. The solution is innovative, scalable, and cost-effective, and creates a paradigm shift within global health care.”

Thermaiscan can enable early detection of breast cancer with cutting-edge technology by combining thermal technology, AI and a smartphone. A safe, cost-effective, and non-invasive tool that can save lives worldwide.

– We are extremely proud and happy about all the incredibly innovative and professional finalists and are confident that everyone will be of great importance in their respective areas in the future, says Lars Kry, CEO of Nexer Group and chairman of the jury for Dream Big.

Finalists:
Compular can, with the help of innovative analysis software, help the industry to create better and more sustainable batteries and thus enable the transition to a more sustainable society.

Navari has a software solution that simplifies navigation during surgery and increases the precision in removing cancerous tumours. An innovation that can improve the life situation of people diagnosed with liver cancer.

Swiftly is an AI platform that uses machine learning to automate the search and application process with the aim of finding a suitable job. The goal is to connect recruiters and jobseekers in a neutral, self-sufficient ecosystem without revealing any personal information before the interview.
