As part of Nexer’s social responsibility and vision for a promising future, the company has for several years been a key partner of Kodcentrum, a non-profit organisation that introduces children to programming and digital creativity.
Kodcentrum and Chalmers invited schools in grades 4-6 to this year’s edition of Kodutmaningen,
a competition that ran from the beginning of October to November 15. Now, the winners have been announced and a wonderful award ceremony has been held!
This year’s theme was “Digital solutions in the wake of the pandemic – how can we use robots and AI to make life easier and better during a pandemic?” The contestants came up with ideas for a robot or AI service that could help us, humans, during the pandemic – and programmed them in Scratch.
A jury with representatives from ABB, Chalmers, Schibsted, Furhat Robotics, Strawbees and Nexer decided the winners.
With nearly 140 fantastic entries from schools across Sweden, the jury had a challenging job to select the winning entry and the four that ended up in positions 2-5.
“It’s a privilege to take part of the amazing, creative and smart entries that children from schools across the country compete with in the Code Challenge. I’m so impressed by their dedication and professionalism. Many future entrepreneurs and programming stars can be seen here,” says Beatrice Silow, Communications and Culture Manager at Nexer Group and Code Challenge jury member.

The Code Challenge was carried out for the second year, and the schools’ involvement was fantastic. Both students and teachers appreciate the Code Challenge, which contributes to increased knowledge and understanding of programming and digital creation.
