Cybersecurity threats impact companies of all sizes, with 88% of data breaches caused by employee mistakes—often linked to phishing emails. Still, cybersecurity training remains one of the most overlooked business strategies. Well-trained employees act as a “human firewall,” spotting and stopping threats early. That’s why all new hires at Stena AB, one of Sweden’s largest family-owned companies, must complete an online information security training called Stay Secure. When the current training needed updating, Stena AB turned to Nexer Maverick for a more engaging solution.
To ensure accurate content for the new Stay Secure, Nexer Maverick interviewed Stena’s internal cybersecurity experts, conducted extensive research, and then wrote a script focused on making Information Security fun and engaging through storytelling. The user follows in the footsteps of cybercrime detective Nova Firewall, learning how to identify suspicious activity. When the time is right, the user receives an assignment. In several scenarios involving employees at Camp Y, an advertising agency, the user must help Nova Firewall defend the company against cybersecurity threats by advising employees on how to respond in different situations.
This approach makes a serious subject more accessible, engaging, and memorable.
With the new Stay Secure course, Stena provides an engaging, effective, scalable, and lasting security training that equips new employees to stay vigilant, recognise threats, and act as a “human firewall.”
