BUSINESS CENTRAL MIGRATION FOR BETTER DECISION MAKING
AGRIBUSINESS
AquaGenetics was formally Aquabel Piscicultura, an agribusiness company founded in 1994, and is a leading Brazilian producer of fingerling and juvenile fish. They are now part of the German conglomerate EW Group, that specialise in animal protein genetic improvement.
CHALLENGE
Due to becoming part of a larger Group structure, AquaGenetics needed to migrate to a robust ERP system that would enable them to make strategic and data-driven decisions.
According to César Palmieri, Managing Director at Nexer:
“AquaGenetics were seeking a solution that would bring confidence and information agility so that the executive team could make decisions through a well-structured, integrated back office that complies with global regulations and standards.”
SOLUTION
As a quick implementation process was required, Dynamics 365 Business Central was selected.
Business Central was identified as being able to ensure compliance with global regulations and standards.
It was vital for them to gain more control over the production processes, better manage their production costs, and connect with Microsoft tools, including Power BI, Power Automate, Office 365, and more.
RESULTS
Within just two months, the solution had been fully adopted by the company. This meant significant results for the company in a short period:
– Online calculation of costs at the unit level.
– Improved inventory management.
– Reduced accounting closing time from 20 days to 5 days – a result achieved in just 4 months.
– Compliance with regulations and legislation.
The result was so positive that the adopted technology is already being implemented in other companies within the group.
Janderson Tolentino Gandra, CEO and Executive Director of AquaGenetics
“We saw in Dynamics the opportunity to associate a robust ERP system with the conveniences offered by Microsoft tools; the platform itself is already very robust and user-friendly. We added some customisations that made managing our data even easier. Since it involves a living end product (fish), it was also important for us to have that flexibility.”
