Nexer Digital Unified Commerce Kepak, a family-owned food company supplying meat and convenience products to leading supermarkets and foodservice operators, has completed a major Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O implementation. Delivered by Nexer Enterprise Applications, the project modernised and unified Kepak’s operations across Ireland and the UK, providing a scalable, future-ready platform for growth.
Kepak, rooted in the Irish and UK farming landscape with a strong butchery heritage, operates a meat processing network across both regions, sourcing livestock from thousands of farmers. Its red meat division supplies major retailers like Tesco and Aldi, and fast-food giants including McDonald’s and Burger King. The scale and complexity of its operations demand precision, consistency, and agility.
With 16 sites across Ireland and the UK, 5,000 employees, and a brand portfolio that includes Rustlers, Big Al’s, and John Stone, Kepak serves leading retailers and foodservice operators global.
While Kepak’s reputation for quality remained undisputed, its technology infrastructure – specifically its legacy ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 – was no longer fit for purpose. Fragmented processes across Kepak’s sites and a historical lack of vendor support presented both operational risk and a barrier to growth.
Having run Dynamics AX since 2013, Kepak faced the growing reality of system obsolescence and the need for any technical issues to be resolved via costly, piecemeal fixes from external contractors. But perhaps more critically, each site of the growing business operated ERP processes independently. This siloed structure created duplication, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies in core functions like finance, warehousing, and supply chain management – all of which are business-critical.
Nexer Enterprise Applications was selected following a competitive tender process. With deep expertise and a proven track record in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Nexer stood out for its practical approach and willingness to embed long-term partnership values into the project.

Following the project kickoff in January 2023, Nexer partnered closely with Kepak’s internal teams over a two-and-a-half-year period to co-design and deliver a scalable, standardised Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and Customer Engagement solution.
Throughout the journey, the implementation was carefully planned to ensure day-to-day operations remained uninterrupted, a testament to the collaborative approach and execution.
Equipped with a future-ready platform, Kepak has now moved into a post-go-live hyper care phase.
