AI Integration with MDM for faster and better technical translations
A Swedish leading provider of digital services for safer and more sustainable workplaces wanted to further improve data quality and streamline translation processes by leveraging AI, integrating with their existing Master Data Management (MDM) solution, built on Stibo Systems STEP.
Background
This customer struggled with incomplete and inaccurate translations caused by time constraints or limited linguistic resources internally.
Their stakeholders, including suppliers and industrial operators, required precise and consistent technical terminology across languages, leading to heavy manual processes prone to errors and inefficiencies and costly outsourcing to translation agencies.
Nexer and the customer’s MDM team, already collaborating on a sustainable master data management solution built on Stibo Systems’ MDM platform STEP, explored the potential of utilising AI to transform the translation workflows.

Challenge

SOLUTION
Nexer integrated AI with the Stibo Systems MDM platform STEP. This integration utilizes AI algorithms trained to process complex language, combined with tailored prompts designed by the Nexer team based on business rules and workflow configurations.
This ensures faster, yet accurate and contextually relevant translations of product information retaining only a final manual approval step to ensure quality control.
The solution combines the advanced language capabilities of ChatGPT with the secure and scalable infrastructure of Microsoft Azure. A secure gateway from STEP to Azure ensures data protection, while a custom-built web UI, hosted on Azure, makes the translation service accessible to all end users.
