Dismax transforms its operations with ERP for food distribution in a Nexer-led project
Digital transformation drives efficiency, automation, and data-driven decision-making at Dismax
Dismax Distribuição Máxima, a distributor specialising in food for the national retail sector in Brazil, was undergoing a period of rapid growth and increasing logistical complexity. With decentralised systems and limited operational visibility, the company needed a modern, robust, scalable ERP tailored to the specific demands of the food distribution industry.
The search was not only for technology but also for a strategic partner capable of redesigning processes and bringing greater efficiency to operations. That’s when the collaboration with Nexer began, a Microsoft Partner with strong expertise in digital transformation projects for distribution and retail businesses. The platform chosen was Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and what set the project apart was the way it was delivered: with deep technical expertise, a business-oriented approach, and a long-term vision.
A phased, strategic, and value-driven approach
Nexer adopted the Solution First methodology, based on Microsoft SureStep, to ensure consistent delivery, governance, and full alignment with Dismax’s goals. The project was structured in phases, starting with a technical and business assessment, followed by the implementation of the back office, logistics processes, and digital integrations.
The first phase involved the full implementation of Business Central’s financial modules: accounting, accounts payable and receivable, banking, and fixed assets — in addition to procurement, sales, and tax management. Once operations were stabilised, Nexer rolled out the native WMS (Warehouse Management System) within Business Central, featuring FEFO control, complete warehouse addressing, and a fully digital and automated operation. This boosted stock accuracy and ensured full traceability throughout the logistics process.
Another strategic differentiator was the integration of the ERP with Dismax’s main digital sales channels, such as Mercado Livre, Amazon, Shopee, and Magalu, along with major supermarket chains and partner manufacturers. Integration with the MáximaTech platform and PED+ enhanced the performance of the sales force and brought fluidity to the omnichannel journey.
Data culture and integration with the Microsoft ecosystem
Beyond operational automation, the project also fostered a cultural shift driven by data. Together with the Dismax team, Nexer structured a modern analytics layer using Power BI, integrated with Microsoft Fabric and synchronised with Dynamics Business Central and other connected platforms. This consolidated financial, logistical, and product data into real-time dashboards used by leadership for both tactical and strategic decisions.
Integration with Microsoft 365 was also a key pillar. SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams were connected to the ERP, bringing more agility to communication and administrative processes. Dismax has also started using Copilot and Power Platform automations to further enhance productivity by automating routine tasks.
“Today we manage based on real data, no longer on assumptions. Dashboards are at the heart of our decision-making.”
— Marcos Tamura, CFO & CIO at Dismax
Results with direct business impact
The combination of technology, process, and governance delivered tangible improvements within the first few months of operation:
- Reduction in rework and increased accuracy in financial and logistics processes
- Real-time visibility of orders, stock, KPIs, and cash flow
- Integration across departments, partners, and digital channels, improving efficiency
- Faster, data-driven decision-making
- Greater employee engagement through modern tools and automated routines
Dismax has also embraced a continuous improvement mindset. The ERP is no longer just a system, it has become the strategic core of its operations.
Next steps: smart logistics and predictive intelligence
Dismax’s roadmap with Nexer continues to evolve. Upcoming phases include logistics automation, expansion of Microsoft Fabric, and the use of AI with Copilot for predictive decision-making.
This evolution is a natural progression for a company that has replaced guesswork with data, KPIs, and real-time control.
More than just a technology provider, Nexer has acted as a true business partner to Dismax, combining deep technical knowledge with a thorough understanding of the distribution sector.
“Nexer understood our business from the outset. The implementation was technical, but also strategic. We didn’t just buy a system — we carried out a transformation with a future purpose.”
— Marcos Tamura, CFO & CIO at Dismax
An ERP for distributors is not just a tool, when implemented with strategy and focus, it redefines how a company operates, grows, and makes decisions. Today, Dismax is more efficient, integrated, and future-ready, with Nexer by its side.
