Dynamics 365

modernizes B3 Social’s donation management, which now directs efforts towards volunteering

B3 Social, responsible for private social investment and volunteering at B3, Brazil’s stock exchange, managed to customize a sales solution for social impact work, with fully remote implementation and support from Nexer, a Microsoft partner company.

Commitment to Social Sustainability

B3 is Brazil’s stock exchange and one of the world’s leading financial market infrastructure companies. Its mission is to connect, develop and enable financial and capital markets, boosting the country’s growth alongside its clients and society.
As part of its Sustainability Strategy, B3 seeks to align itself with the best ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) practices, encourage and engage the market towards sustainable development, and strengthen its portfolio with ESG products and market fronts.
Aligned with this strategy is B3 Social, a non-profit association that coordinates B3’s private social investment projects and volunteering. The entity seeks to contribute to the reduction of social inequalities in Brazil, with a main focus on improving public education, in addition to acting in emergency situations such as pandemics and food insecurity.
Every year, B3 Social allocates approximately R$50 million in donations to more than 150 social projects.

“Security is an important point. This information is gathered on a secure platform, and we no longer run the risk of having any incident that steals or disrupts our knowledge base and B3 Social business.”
– Sergio Ricardo Albano, IT coordinator for the Corporate Systems area at B3

Challenge: Centralize and Ensure Data Reliability

During a strategic restructuring process in 2019, the B3 Social team identified the need for a solution to manage data from evaluated and supported social projects.

Until then, the volume of information was high and dispersed, compromising efficiency and reliability in data management, with operational risks for monitoring and evaluating projects.

The goal was to create a system that would enable centralization and easy access to a single database, increasing efficiency in the management of donation indicators and strengthening information security.

Solution: Implementing an Integrated Architecture with Microsoft Dynamics 365

To meet demand, B3 opted to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365, with consulting from Nexer, a Microsoft partner. The choice was natural, as B3 had been on a journey to adopt Dynamics since 2013.

The project was conducted remotely in 2021, during the pandemic, and the first phase was delivered in just 10 weeks, covering the entire flow of funding for social projects.
In addition to Dynamics 365, integrations were implemented with:

– Power Automate, for automation of flows and processes.
– Outlook App do Microsoft 365, increasing users’ autonomy and productivity.
– Power BI, for strategic analysis and reporting.

The solution has brought security, eliminating risks related to the loss or exposure of sensitive data. “This information is gathered on a secure platform, and we no longer run the risk of any incident that steals or destroys our knowledge base and B3 Social projects,” says Sergio Ricardo Albano, IT coordinator for B3’s Corporate Systems area.

Results: Greater Efficiency, Productivity and Planning for the Future

With the new solution, B3 Social now has a single database, equipped with an efficient search system that facilitates locating social organizations, projects, contacts, and performance indicators.
“We now have practically all the historical data of our donations in the CRM. We register all the organizations we talk to, not just those we support. This brings the centrality and reliability we were looking for,” explains Julia Salem, Private Social Investment Analyst.
Process automation has eliminated manual tasks, such as filling out spreadsheets and contracts — now automatically generated. The tool also supports project performance management and monitoring, enabling the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative indicators, as well as tracking the municipalities benefited.
For Fabiana Prianti, Private Social Investment Manager, “Dynamics 365 has become the main work tool for all of us,” both in leadership and operations.
Now, B3 Social plans to expand the use of the platform to manage its volunteer program, which involves around 50% of the company’s 2,800 employees. “The next challenge, after customizing the entire private social investment process, is managing the volunteer program. Continuous improvements are part of our DNA,” concludes Fabiana.
