To make the most of the potential of technical talent and increase the likelihood of retention, technical skills are just one piece of a larger puzzle. In a fast-paced and changing world, skills such as self-leadership, team dynamics and communication are essential. Both to manage complex and analytical tasks and to interact with others in new ways of working.

That’s why we put a lot of emphasis on soft skills and personal development in our talent programmes. In this way, we fill a gap demanded by the talents themselves, increasing their chances of staying, while increasing their productivity and thus our clients’ innovation and growth.

TECH TALENT REPORT

CONTINUOUS LEARNING IS AN IMPORTANT PARAMETER

Employers who offer continuous skills development increase their chances of retaining talent. This was the finding of the Tech Talent Report, a comprehensive report based on 500 interviews with young tech talent produced by Nexer Tech Talent in collaboration with Kairos Future’s future analysts.

Of the talented people who said they had no room for continuous learning, only 18% planned to stay. The survey also found that those who had previously participated in Nexer Tech Talent’s talent program and were now employed by employers who provided ample space for learning – where the proportion of satisfied talent with the ambition to stay was as high as 78%.

In conclusion, the report found that future-proofing skills needs through talent programs, along with continued professional development, is a strong success factor in retaining tech talent over time.

CORPORATE

Our customised talent programs are scalable and fully tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. The 12-month programmes include talent acquisition (attraction and recruitment), marketing and employer branding and onboarding support. The hourly rate also includes comprehensive technical and non-technical training and mentoring support to accelerate productivity and support their professional development. Upon successful completion of the program, the ambition is to talent transfer to the client.

PERSONALISED

Our personalised programs are an upgraded version of a traditional Try & Hire approach. Alongside a 12-month consultancy assignment, we provide a generic training program covering both technical and non-technical subjects. As with all our talent programs, the hourly rate includes everything from talent acquisition to mentoring support. Upon successful completion of the program, the ambition is to transition the talent to the client.

COMPETENCE-ORIENTED

Our competency-based programs are designed specifically to accelerate skills in artificial intelligence or cybersecurity. The program provides the candidate with a solid foundation in each area of expertise. A 12-month program includes recruitment, onboarding support, technical/non-technical training and mentoring. The talent works in dedicated assignments with the ambition to transition to the client after successful completion of the program.

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS

We start ongoing one-year talent programs in collaboration with many of Sweden’s leading companies. During the programs, the talents are employed by Nexer Tech Talent, but work dedicatedly at a client that matches the talent’s profile and skills. In addition to a comprehensive training package that runs throughout the year, the program also includes candidate attraction, recruitment, marketing, onboarding, coaching, mentoring support and a web-based Learning Management System. All included in the hourly rate.

With insights and feedback from our clients and past talent, our programs are constantly tweaked and adjusted to meet the needs and demands of a rapidly changing marketplace. Upon completion of the program, the ambition is for the talent to move into employment with the client.

JENNIFER: A SAFE AND EXCITING START

When Jennifer finished her studies in industrial economics with a focus on data at KTH, she decided she wanted to work with programming. When she was introduced to the possibility of joining a talent program through Nexer Tech Talent after graduation, she was very impressed. Getting a career start with a lot of support and understanding that you don’t know everything yet, made her accept. Today she is six months into the talent program at Länsförsäkringar and feels that the network, support and continuous training she has received has given her a secure, and very fun, start to her working life.
