Since 1984, Biomedical has been promoting the dissemination of advanced technologies in Brazil\u2019s healthcare sector, operating in the import of cutting-edge equipment and professional training. The company played a key role in major medical advancements in Brazil, such as the introduction of minimally invasive surgery techniques in the 1990s.

In 2018, Biomedical expanded its operations by acquiring the MSB factory in Lauro de Freitas, Bahia, beginning production of high-standard medical and hospital supplies in the fields of Endourology and Endovascular procedures. Challenge: Eliminating Manual Processes and Ensuring Traceability<\/h2>\n

After acquiring MSB, Biomedical\u2019s CEO Luiz Felipe Machado identified the need to modernize the company\u2019s production management system. Until then, operations relied on physical reports and manual controls, which compromised agility and made it difficult to trace production stages\u2014an essential requirement in a highly regulated industry.

Additionally, production took place in a clean room, an environment with extremely strict air particle control. Accessing the space required professionals to fully change into protective garments, a process that took about 20 minutes. The constant need to leave and re-enter the room to retrieve or validate information made the operation inefficient and physically demanding.

The core challenge, therefore, was to implement a solution that would digitize processes, ensure rigorous control and traceability, and eliminate unnecessary movement along the production line.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Solution: Complete Digitalization with Microsoft Dynamics 365<\/h2>\n

After a detailed analysis, the MSB team identified Microsoft Dynamics 365 as the only tool capable of meeting the demands of such a regulated and complex production environment.

With support from Nexer EA, a Microsoft partner, the Finance and Operations module of Dynamics 365 was implemented. The solution completely transformed the factory\u2019s production process:

– Production became fully digital, with technicians accessing orders and logging data directly on tablets inside the clean room
– Communication with managers and issue resolution began occurring through the same device, eliminating the need for physical displacement
– Production traceability significantly improved: every stage, resource, operator, and timing became easily monitored and auditable

According to Luiz Felipe:

With the implementation of Dynamics 365, MSB eliminated paper use in production, gained process efficiency and security, and fully aligned with industry regulatory requirements.

The solution also enabled remote work for part of the team, which proved critical during the pandemic. For example, the production manager, unable to return from Portugal due to flight restrictions, was still able to perform his duties remotely without any operational losses.

The impact was directly reflected in business growth: the factory recorded a 40% increase in 2019, with even more ambitious projections for the coming years.
